As a kid I
lived in the Peruvian
mountains in a small rural
community where I learned
about my ancestress culture
and idiosyncrasy since my
grandmother was one of them.
There is where I learned
the Inka native language...
the 'Quechua' that I speak -
this language is spoken by
1/3 of Peruvians or 8
million people in Peru
specially in the high lands
where we'll meet them.
About my
experience - I have worked
for 12 years guiding. I
started studying English at
the age of 13 and like it
very much. While studying
English I decided to study
tourism. I studied tourism
to be a guide and I was at
the Faculty of Archeology at the University of Cusco.
I really like what I do.
When I
finished the Faculty of the
Tourism, I lived at Machu
Picchu for nearly half a
year doing my professional
practices on guiding, and I
love to be in the mountains.
I also
did practices in the
different museums in Cusco,
I took courses on Biology to
learn about the plants
besides what is taught to us
at the Faculty, and also
took courses on birds.
About
myself, I can say that I
was lucky to be able to
study tourism to be an
official tour guide because
after 12 years guiding I
still enjoy it a lot, I
like to be with people and
teach them about the past of
my country and
my ancestress that I'm so
proud about.
